The Totentanz (Dance of death) is a contemporary adaptation of this genre. Like the artpieces from the early modern period, the protagonists of the various social classes are confronted with their own transience. In total, there are twelve sheets which were sprayed on paper sheets in two colors using stencils and spray cans.
